How to read a TMJ MRI

1. Open the MRI study. In the panel, under Layout, choose TMJ layout: pick the Joint (Right, Left or Both) and the Series. One joint shows closed beside open; Both shows all four panes.
2. Click Play jaw motion to step through every jaw position at the same place in the joint.
3. Under Disc position, click the condyle centre and then the posterior band of the disc. Mark the condyle on the open series too to measure translation.
4. Open TMJ report: the findings fill in from your marks. Add a note per joint and an impression, then Copy report text.
